Perfectionists view (yes it’s me) – I don’t need any help to adapt
Reality – World changes seemingly overnight (it’s been months at least) and wants you to;
Communicate to diverse groups (e.g. clearly speak to 5 generations in one organisation)
Deliver communication through presentations, one to one, digital platforms, stories, written word, mime (OK maybe not mime)
Make decisions fasters, slower, more analytical, less analytical … i.e. differently NOW
Manage other managers instead of within your specialist technical comfort zone
So you can;
Ignore and hope for the best (within comfort zone)
Start to think about ALL the changes (way outside comfort zone)
Pick top 2 things you can start to change (becoming comfortable with some change)
Look back and appreciate your progress (back in comfort zone)
Repeat.
